about your host, Mel
Mel Albers has worked in the Safari Industry in Botswana since 1999. Born in Zimbabwe, and having spent her childhood in and around the National Parks in Natal, South Africa – her love of the bush grew from there. She currently lives in Maun, Botswana and is passionate about the Tourism Industry, Eco Tourism and the impact that these two have on Botswana and Southern Africa.
Mel has spent her years in Botswana learning every aspect of the Safari Industry – from the very first stages of the logistics side (purchase, supply and delivery) to the flight scheduling and then on to reservations.
Over the years, Mel has compounded her experience by managing luxury lodges, running mobile safaris and training staff on safari and in lodges for all the most reputable companies in Botswana – she now wants to share that intimate experience in the industry with others, planning in detail the perfect safari for you.
With Mel’s knowledge of the bush, the camps and luxury lodges, and the amount of time spent in these camps and lodges, makes her the perfect person to help you plan the ideal itinerary for your dream safari, to encompass very personal requirements. From the pre-planning stage, right through the duration of the safari.
Her extensive knowledge of the tourism industry in Botswana, and specifically safaris in Northern Botswana, the Okavango Delta and Panhandle, and the Kalahari will ensure that your booking is handled personally and in a tailor made manner.
